about us

our mission

Random Acts of Flowers improves the emotional health and well-being of individuals in healthcare facilities by delivering recycled flowers, encouragement, and personal moments of kindness.

We all benefit when we’re kind and compassionate. The community becomes stronger and people thrive. That’s why we deliver beautiful bouquets of recycled flowers to those struggling with injury, illness, and the aging process.

Our vision as a flower charity is to inspire and nurture a culture of care and compassion. We do that through our core values:

  • Fun: Smiles are contagious. We find a little fun in everything we do.
  • Passion: Passion drives purpose. We know the impact of our mission is determined by the enthusiasm of our people.
  • Accountability: The meeting of responsibilities, relationships, and results. We honor our commitments and take ownership of our actions.
  • Excellence: Exceeding expectations is the expectation. We take pride in our high standards and strive for continuous improvement.

our history

In October 2015, David Evans unexpectedly lost his wife. The flowers flooded into his home and disappeared as quickly as they arrived. Evans quickly learned that his late wife’s sorority sisters were taking the flowers and delivering them to individuals in senior care living.

This touched Evans heart and he shared it with his neighbor who was connected to Random Acts of Flowers Knoxville. Evans was excited to learn more and reached out to his good friend, Nancy Elder. Together, Evans and Elder invited their friends to hear from the founder of the Knoxville location and raised $90,000 in 45 minutes to start Random Acts of Flowers Indianapolis.

Our first delivery was on October 13, 2016 and we have delivered over 167,000 bouquets to individuals in the healthcare setting bringing joy to those who need it most.

Today, our operation supports healthcare partners in Marion and seven contiguous counties by delivering approximately 2,000 “moments of joy” each month – one bouquet at a time.

Random Acts of Flowers Indianapolis is a federally registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
