When it comes to making an impact in our community, we wouldn’t be able to do it without the dedication and devotion of our volunteers. Each week, they repurpose donated flowers from special events, memorial services, grocery stores, and wholesalers to turn what would otherwise be waste into something fresh and meaningful! When you volunteer with us, expect to have fun, meet new people, be creative, and bring smiles to our community!

Volunteering at Random Acts of Flowers Indianapolis helps us spread joy and allows people who share our values to nurture a culture of compassion and care. Whether you have an hour or a whole week, we value every moment you spend with us.
Volunteer opportunities include:
- Personal Vehicle Pickup: Pick up floral or vase donations from grocery stores, funeral homes, and event venues in your personal vehicle
- Personal Vehicle Drop Off: Smaller quantities of arrangements in cardboard boxes from your personal vehicle in your personal vehicle
- Vase Processing: Counting, sorting, and cleaning donated vases.
- Workshop Cleanup: Sweeping, breaking down boxes, taking out compost, etc.
- Shift Lead: Assist staff with the flow of shifts and keeping volunteers on track to meet daily goals
- RAFI Van Driver: Driving a RAFI van for floral pick-ups and deliveries.
- Special Events: Sign up to help with events like Florathon, Flowers After Hours, etc.
- Workshop Assistant: Assist staff with various administrative or workshop tasks as needed.
- Floral Prep: Sorting, composting, and organizing donated flowers. (2o volunteer hours required)
- Floral Arranging: Creating bouquets with the donated flowers. (3o volunteer hours required)
- Patient Room Deliveries: Personally delivering bouquets at local hospitals and nursing homes. (4o volunteer hours required)
*Please Note: Due to the overwhelming interest in our mission (thank you!), combined with the small workshop space and limited shift opportunities, we are only able to onboard new volunteers a few times a year. Once a date is set for the next Information Session, individuals who have filled out an Interest Form/joined our waitlist will be contacted via email. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
