Frequently Asked Questions for the 2021 Flor-A-Thon.

No experience necessary! We will give you a few tips and tricks and explain any special parameters that our healthcare partners require, but other than that, you are free to have fun and be creative!

We will provide shears, scissors, vases, an apron to protect your clothes, and the flowers of course! If you prefer to bring your own arranging supplies, you are welcome to do so. (We do not use floral tape or floral foam in our arrangements.)

Each shift is an hour and a half. We will do a quick intro to the organization, give you some easy tips and tricks about creating your arrangements, and let you do your thing! You should plan to arrive no more than 15 minutes before your scheduled shift.

We will follow all CDC recommendations at the time, as well as the advice of the trusted medical professionals on our Board. At this time, everyone in our shop is required to wear a mask because Marion County is an area of high transmission.

Arranging stations will be distanced, with only 10 arrangers per shift. All shared work stations and tools will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized between each shift. We will stagger each shift’s arrival and departure times so that contact is limited.

While all arrangers are committing to a $500 donation per shift, you can come up with that money however you’d like! We will provide you with a unique-to-you fundraising page that you can customize and share with your friends and family, coworkers, and social networks to help you raise the funds. In addition to online donations, you can collect donations the old-fashioned way by collecting cash or checks or having those donations mailed to RAF Indy. (Be sure to have your donors include your name so that we can apply their donation to your bucket!) Many participants were able to have their employers cover part of their donation. All donations will be collected by Wednesday, May 4th following the event. Of course, you can feel free to raise more than $500—we won’t be mad!

There is a section on the arranger registration where you can indicate your preferred days/times. We will do our best to accommodate your requests. If you have a person you would like to arrange with, please indicate that on the registration form.

Yes! But keep in mind that you are committing to $500 per shift!

All of the arrangements created will be delivered to patients in local healthcare facilities and hospitals on Friday following the event. Event Sponsors at the $5,000+ level can choose a healthcare center where arrangements will be delivered. You can find more information on Sponsorship opportunities here.
